ESTES - European Society for Trauma & Emergency Surgery

The Emergency Surgery Course (ESC®) is an initiative of the European Society for Trauma & Emergency Surgery (ESTES). ESC® aims to provide surgeons with the tactics of nontrauma emergency surgery and aid them in their daily practice. The animal lab is designed to improve the skills of the general surgeon to deal with surgical emergencies with ease. The course has been planned and designed by Abe Fingerhut (France), Selman Uranues (Austria), Korhan Taviloglu (Turkey), Ari Leppaniemi (Finland), Eric Voiglio (France) and Fernando Turegano (Spain) and is supported by pioneers of emergency surgery worldwide in terms of the course syllabus and slides.

We have received applications from  Italy, United Arab Emirates, Russian Federation, Ireland, Greece, Georgia, Japan, Sweden, Gambia, Ukraine, Netherlands and Qatar until now.
Accomodation reservations may be performed from the website under registration.
 
The course is supported by the Turkish Surgical Association and the Istanbul Surgical Association.

Økonomi

ATLS i Danmark har et årligt budget på 1.7 millioner kroner. Indtægterne stammer fra kursusgebyrer og donation fra TrygFonden. ATLS er udviklet af American College of Surgeons i USA. Fra årsskiftet 2012/2013 tages 9. udgave af ATLS manualen i brug. ATLS Danmark køber manualer til kurserne for fremstillingspris med tillæg af 5 USD per manual, der går til videreudvilkling af kurset/manualen. Udover dette modtager ATLS i USA ikke midler fra ATLS Danmark.

   

ATLS i mere end 50 lande

ATLS kurser holdes i dag i mere end 50 lande i verden, heraf 15 lande i Europa.
